Brent Freeman Bio
1. Where did you go to college and why did you
choose this school?
I attended San Jose State University largely because
many family members went there and my grandfather taught physics there.
2. Where have you taught? What grade level(s)?
I have taught 23 years in southern Oregon, mostly at
Ashland Middle School.
3. What is your current professional focus (job)?
I am currently the Scholarship Committee Chairperson.
4. How and why did you get involved with OCTM?
I got involved in OCTM when I was working on my
teaching credential at Southern Oregon University.
5. What kind of math leadership roles have you
taken in the Oregon Math Community?
I have been the Area 8 Rep and the NCTM Rep.
6. What are you passionate about (personal or
professional)?
Professionally, I am passionate about anything to do
with teaching mathematics. I'm
particularly passionate about curriculum and assessment work. Personally, I'm passionate about
European travel.
