Area 10
Representative: Dana Marlia
1. Where did you go to college and why did you
choose this school?
Originally I thought I wanted to major in physical
therapy, so I chose Pacific University. It was there that I earned a
Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Social Work knowing this major
would work for PT or teaching. In 2001, I moved back
to Baker City and earned a Masters in Teacher Education at
Eastern Oregon University.
2. Where have you taught? What grade level(s)?
After student teaching and subbing in the Baker
School District, I was hired as a long-term substitute in North Powder teaching
2nd grade. The following two years I taught Special Education for grades
K-12. I am presently teaching 5th grade at North Powder.
3. What is your current professional focus (job)?
5th grade self-contained

Molly Smith encouraged me to be a
Representative. It allows me to stay up-to-date and exposed to
