1. Where did you go to college and
why did you choose this school?
I attended Eastern Washington
University for my undergraduate work.
I choose EWU because it was a smaller university, near Spokane and has a
great Education program. I got my
masters degree from Grand Canyon University. GCU worked for me because I could do all my classes on-line.
2. Where have you taught? What
grade level(s)?
I am currently teaching in
Hermiston OR. Prior to that I spent
10 year teaching in Boardman, OR.
I began teaching 4th grade, and then taught 6th

I am teaching middle school, 7th
& 8th grade, math at Armand Larive.
4. How and why did you get
involved with OCTM?
I attended a conference put on by

volunteered to fulfill Patty SandozŐs term as secretary when she was elected to
President.
5. What kind of math leadership
roles have you taken in the Oregon Math Community?
I am actively involved in OCTM and
OML. I have presented at several
math conferences including the Northwest Math Conference. I am on the committee
for Inquiry Outside the Cube (IOC).
IOC is held every three years in La Grande OR. I have written test items for Oregon State tests and helped
set the new cut scores.

(personal or professional)?
I believe that learning should
never end and the best teachers are people who like to learn. I am also passionate about spending
time with my family and routing for the Echo Cougars.
