Area 8 Representative: Ron Baker

1. Where did you go to college and why did you choose this school?

I attended Eastern Oregon University for two years and Southern Oregon University for two years.

2. Where have you taught? What grade level(s)?

I taught self-contained 7th and 8th grades in Silver Lake for three years, P.E. at Bonanza for twelve years and math at Bonanza for 16 years.

3. What is your current professional focus (job)?

I am retired and tend toward farm labor.

4. How and why did you get involved with OCTM?

I believe in professional organizations and this one is exceptional.

5. What kind of math leadership roles have you taken in the Oregon Math Community?

I was OEA Rep in Klamath County for 25 years and have been Area 8B Rep for two years.

6. What are you passionate about (personal or professional)?

I love sports and competition. I also love math without algorithms.

7. What one word do you think best describes you?

Honest
