The last issue introduced you to an interactive whiteboard by Numonics.  Here is another one that I also saw used in a presentation at the NECC Conference in June. These are truly exciting tools.

SMART Technologies:  SMART Board interactive whiteboard enables teachers to create visual and interactive lessons that involve the whole class. It works with a computer and projector to provide control of projected applications and multimedia materials directly from its touch-sensitive surface. Teachers and students can write over the top of computer images and save their notes to review, edit and print

A WebQuest:  Word Problems by Mrs. Ulrich from BCIU.  (The Berks County Intermediate Unit provides programs and services to public school districts, nonpublic schools, and other human service organizations of Berks County, Pennsylvania.)  Group work facilitates solving dreaded Word problems in Algebra.  Groups of three or four research a certain type of word problem using the internet, various resource books, and human helpers (teachers and parents) to assist, and prepare you to share the results with the entire class. Uniform motion, variation, age, percent, mixture, work, consecutive integers, and coin problems are all included as choices for investigation.
